Port
Port is arguably one of the sweeter styles of fortified wines - and one of the highest in alcohol! Made in Portugal in the Douro region using blends of native grapes, the grapes are heavily extracted of tannin, colour and sugar and the wine is then fortified with ‘aguardente,’ the spirit that is added to the wine. There are a range of styles with white and black grapes used, and different lengths of ageing and specific vintages.
