McLaren Vale

The birthplace of wine in South Australia, it lies just south of the capital city of Adelaide and has been home to winemaking for about 180 years. It’s phylloxera free (a little parasite that destroyed many vineyards) and the global demand for McLaren Vale wines is now at an all-time high. There are many boutique wineries employing a sustainable wine growing ethos, with no irrigation. These innovative wine makers demand attention for the incredibly interesting wines they are now producing especially from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache as well as other lesser known European varieties.
