Portugal
Due to it’s beautifully sunny climate and close proximity to the sea, Portugal is more than equipped to produce ripe, succulent red wines and fresh, aromatic white wines for a reasonable price. It has a long, traditional history of winemaking and has put a spotlight on many native grapes from various regions. Traditional winemaking techniques are also often used, for example using Amphora (a clay fermenting pot) to age and ferment wine, and the use of old oak for texture and flavour.
